Adopting a cat is a rewarding experience. When you adopt a cat, you help save a life. Our animals come from a variety of backgrounds and situations, but all are looking for a forever home. They ask very little of their humans – a little rub on the chin, some food and bedding, regular veterinary checkups, and lots of love! In return, you will find your new best friend.
Adoption Fees:
Adult:
$200 for a single
$150 for each additional
Kitten (<1 year):
$250 for a single
$200 for each additional
Senior (10+ years)/Special Needs:
$150 each cat
The MHAA Adoption Fee includes the following items:
– One-year vaccination for distemper and rabies
– Spay/neuter
– FeLV and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) testing
– A micro-chip ID (in the event your cat gets lost)
– Worming medications
– Flea prevention treatment
– Basic grooming

Once you find a cat that you would like to share your home with, complete an adoption application in person or online.
To complete an application in person please visit our sanctuary during open hours: Wednesday through Monday 12:00pm – 4:00pm; Tuesday by appointment.

You will need to provide the name of your veterinarian if you currently have or have had any pets, and the names, addresses, and phone numbers of two references.
It may take us a couple of days to check your references and process your application.
Once your application is approved, we will call you to make an appointment to come in and pick up your new friend.
Remember to bring your own cat carrier.
