Thanks and Appreciation
We are extremely grateful for all our volunteers. We could not run the shelter without them!
Sometimes, however, one particular volunteer – or group of volunteers – goes above and beyond. Periodically, we like to highlight that one (or more) special volunteer(s) and publicly share their special contribution.
MHAA would like to thank Purina Friskies Grillers, GreaterGood.org, the Rescue Bank and its affiliate in Long Island, and The Animal Rescue Site for their generous dry food donation. In addition, we’d like to thank Sandra Morelli for volunteering to get the food to us. The kitties at MHAA are so grateful for this long lasting supply of dry food!
On May 17, 2014 MHAA was the recipient of Leadership Dutchess’s Day of Service Project. Leadership Dutchess, a leadership program of The Chamber Foundation, Inc., celebrated its 25th anniversary this year and selected MHAA as one of two projects to receive this benefit. Volunteers from the Leadership Dutchess Class of 2014 and MHAA joined forces to beautify the shelter grounds, repair the building exterior siding, and paint several interior rooms. Several local businesses donated food or materials including Leo’s Pizzeria, Royal Carting and Williams Lumber.
On June 12, we had the pleasure of joining the class for their graduation ceremony! Congratulations to this team – and thank you to the volunteers and local businesses for their planning, hard work, and generosity to help improve the shelter!
